A boy aged five, who was locked inside the apartment, fell from the third floor of a building located on Maria Dragan St in Chisinau’s Ciocana district on April 6, IPN reports.

The boy’s father told the police that he went out of the house for several minutes. The child was sleeping so that he locked the apartment. It seems that the child woke up and went out on the balcony, where he fell. According to the spokesman for the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir, the parents face a fine of 400 lei for leaving the minor without supervision.

Director o the Municipal Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenko” Nicolae Starciuc said the child is in a satisfactory condition. Luckily, he didn’t suffer serious injuries. He was diagnosed only with a minor head injury. Two years ago, the same child was hospitalized as a result of a similar incident. As this is the second falling case, the boy will be subject to a psychological evaluation.

Doctors warn the families with small children to permanently supervise them.
