Thirteen persons, three of whom children, suffered injuries in a road accident in Chisinau in the evening of July 2. The accident happed at the intersection of the streets M. Eminescu and Shchusev and involved a minibus running on route No.155, IPN reports.

Petru Craveţt, spokesman for the Emergency Medicine Department, said that 11 persons were taken to the hospital. Two of them were hospitalized with multiple fractures, while three children aged 4, 6 and 14 were transported to the Municipal Hospital “Valentin Ignatenko”. The four-year-old child is in a coma and his state is critical.

Head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the minibus driven by a 29-year-old man from Ciorescu village collided with a vehicle driven by a man aged 26 from Codru Nou, Telenesti. The police are to establish who is to blame for the accident and if the drivers were speeding and were under the influence of alcohol.

The driver to blame faces three to seven years in jail. He will be also disqualified from driving for a period of up to four years.
