A 5-year-old child has drowned in an abandoned water-filtering pool on the outskirts of Cantemir town. The press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, Tatiana Corceac, has told Info-Prim Neo the boy was taken care of by his grandmother, as his parents were working. He played with other children. At about 17.00 the woman lost sight of him. After useless searchings, the panicked grandmother announced the police and relatives. The child's body was found at 2.00 in the pool. No other circumstances are known so far, but it is certain that the access to the miry pool was free. An unidentified man, aged 50-60, has been found dead in another water-filtering pool near Chetrosu village of Drochia district. The corpse was noticed by farmers working in the field, as the police is searching the case. 46 people, including 19 minors, have drowned in Moldova this year.
