A girl aged one year and a half from Balti municipality fell from the eighth floor of an apartment building in the evening of April 29. She was admitted to the intensive care section of the Balti Municipal Clinical Hospital. Her state is now serious, but stable.

Contacted by IPN, Balti Police Inspectorate press officer Eugenia Molchanov said the police were called a about 7pm. The child was found by passersby. It was established that the girl’s parents drank alcoholic beverages and fell asleep, leaving the child unsupervised. Legal action was taken in this case.

Anatol Bernic, head of the surgery section of the Balti Municipal Clinical Hospital, has told IPN that the girl suffered a concussion, internal organ damage, thoracic trauma and a closed head injury.
