The Chief Negotiators for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Cristina Lesnic and Vitaly Ignatiev had a meeting at the office of the OSCE Mission in Chișinău on September 7, IPN reports.
According to the Bureau for Reintegration Policies, the meeting involved the working groups for developing road infrastructure and transport and representatives of the mediators and observers at the “5+2” format talks.
The discussions centered on the process of implementing the provisions of the April 24 Protocol Decision concerning the access to international road traffic of motor vehicles from the Transnistrian region that are not involved in commercial activities, in connection with the opening of Vehicle Registration Offices in Tiraspol and Râbnița on September 1, which work on a trial basis.
It should be noted that the Special Representative of the Italian OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Franco Frattini, will visit Chișinău and Tiraspol from 9 to 10 September 2018 and meet the Sides. The Special Representative will meet with Chief Negotiators Cristina Lesnic and Vitaly Ignatiev and with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi. During his visit, Special Representative Frattini will also visit the recently opened Vehicle Registration Office in Tiraspol to hand over the first Moldovan neutral-design license plates.
