Chemistry laboratory of “Stefan cel Mare” High School on fire
The students and teachers of the Chisinau-based High School “Stefan cel Mare” were evacuated from the building as a result of a fire that started in the chemistry lab.
Civil Protection and Emergencies Service press officer Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo that seven firefighting vehicles traveled to the scene.
The fire extended on about 4 square meters, destroying a table and a cabinet in the lab. It was put out in 17 minutes.
The chemistry teacher and three twelfth graders were taken to the hospital with poisoning.
The cause of fire is not yet known. State fire safety inspectors are investigating the case. The students were allowed to go home and will return to classed on Friday, October 7.
