The checkpoint set up at the entrance to the Chisinau City Hall was taken away. In accordance with the reform carried out at the Ministry of the Interior, the policemen can no longer ensure public order in public institutions. The announcement was made by the head of the City Hall’s Administrative Division Oleg Poiata on July 1, IPN reports.
Until a solution is found, two employees of the Administrative Division will be on guard at the door. Under the legislation, the private guard agencies do not have the right to provide services to public institutions. Only the State Guard Service can do this.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the given measure reveals the state institutions’ disinterest in the public institutions. Until there is disinterest, the municipality must identify possibilities of contracting private guard services.
