Cheap diesel without provenience papers
Anticorruption officers found about one tonne of diesel fuel brought from the left bank of the Nistru River, which was sold at a price lower than in filling stations, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Center for Fighting Economic Crimes and Corruption, the illegal sales were discovered at the terminal stop on minibus route 186, where a man sold diesel fuel at 14 lei per liter, while the price in filling stations was 15.65 lei.
The diesel fuel was being pumped out of the tank of a minibus with a makeshift pump into containers of 20 liters. It was then sold mostly to minibus drivers working on routes 186 and 115 in Chisinau.
The containers were found in the minibus. The investigators also discovered that the minibus was modified so that its reservoir had a capacity of 800 liters. The fuel was bought at 12 lei per liter in the Transnistrian region and then fraudulently sold in the capital.
The vehicle and the fuel were confiscated.
