Tens of people responded to the appeal of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport to help the family of the five-year-old Jasmina Lefter, who needs medical treatment abroad. On June 3, the people came to Crèche-Nursery No. 179 in Chisinau, which the girl attends, and brought her toys, presents and money, while the children of the institution gave a mini-concert for their mate.
The nursery’s director Natalia Kogalniceanu said the charity event “A smile for Jasmina” brought together directors of other nursery schools situated in Ciocana district of Chisinau, parents and businessmen who wanted to offer financial and moral support to the girl’s family that is in difficulty because both of the parents are out of work.
Jasmina suffers from severe psycho-verbal and mental retardation and from obesity and needs treatment that can be received in Romania. Doctors recommend immediately starting the treatment.
The Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport staged charity events earlier too. It helped a family from Sangera, where the mother and the two children aged 11 and 15 have poor sight and the father is the only one who earns money and has a salary of only 1,500 lei. Another charity event was intended to help a single mother of seven children, the youngest of whom is only one year. The family lives in a rented room and lacks basis necessities.
