The association Amici dei Bambini is organizing on November 18 a charity concert for children, themed “For You, the Children of the World”, to mark the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The concert will start at 18:00 at the National Philharmonic. Various performers will walk out on stage. All the raised funds will go to a group of children that graduated from residential institutions, like it happened last year when the 24,000 lei collected were used to help such children continue their studies. Stela Vasluian, the head of the association Amici dei Bambini Moldova, has told Info-Prim Neo that these children look into the future with the hope to find the understanding, the warmth and the love that they have missed so much. “We can change the fate of these children through acceptance, support and encouragement and make them smile again”, says Stela Vasluian. “They had been brought to this world, but they were abandoned and isolated, deprived abusively of the right to have a family. They are the Children of the World too, but they are not always accepted by us. We regard them as different just because the destiny wasn't very generous with them and didn't offer them the chance to live in a family, feel the parental warmth, enjoy the ephemeral moments of childhood, go to the first grade, holding the warm and secure hands of their parents in theirs”, added Stela Vasluian. Tickets at prices ranging from 50 to 100 lei are available at both Amici dei Bambini's office and the National Philharmonic.
