Pictures showing life stories of premature babies were exhibited in the hall of the Parliament Building at a charitable exhibition to raise funds as part of World Prematurity Day that is celebrated on November 17, IPN reports.
A girl born on the 26th pregnancy week with a weight of 550 grams is the smallest hero of the exhibit. “A premature child is very vulnerable, but also determined in the wish to live. The support of society is needed for many stories of the kind to end happily,” said the president of the public association “Vitae” Aza Onica, who staged the exhibition.
First-fourth graders of the Romanian-French Theoretical Lyceum “Gheorghe Asachi” were the first visitors of the exhibit that will continue until November 16. A donation box is available there.
World Prematurity Day has been marked in Moldova since 2011. Its goal is to warn about the risks of preterm birth, which is before the 37th pregnancy week. Almost 2,000 children are born prematurely in Moldova annually.
