Bombteh specialists detonated the explosive charge of a missile that crashed into a pond in Anenii Noi district. According to the Ministry of the Interior, there was no danger for the population, as the area was cordoned off and the first homes are one kilometer away.

“In order for the intervention to be conducted safely, hydrotechnical specialists emptied the pond. A National Police bomb disposal team analyzed the operational situation for several hours to identify the optimal solution for removing and detonating the explosive, which was located at the bottom of the pond”, said the Ministry.

On Tuesday the locals informed the authorities that they discovered what appeared to be parts of a missile in the pond. The authorities confirmed the parts were from an air-to-air missile, with specialists to identify its type and origin.
