The right to monthly child benefit could be claimed optionally – until the child turns three in the amount of 30% of the calculation basis set for each year or until the child turns two in the amount of 60% of the calculation basis for the first year and 30% for the second year.

A bill to this effect was proposed for public debates on particip.gov.md. It comes to amend the law on allowances for temporary incapacity for work and other social welfare, IPN reports.

If the mother or the father of the child who receives benefit goes to work before the childcare leave expires, the monthly alliance continues to be paid and the person receives the salary and also the benefit.

A novelty is that the decision to extend the period of being in temporary incapacity for work starting with the 120th day and the medical leave for over 180 days will be taken by the family doctor, without the consent of the National Council for Determining Disability and Capacity for Work.

The allowances for temporary incapacity for work caused by tuberculosis, AIDS or cancer will be paid regardless of the length of the insurance period.
