Changes in the structure of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. SCP meeting on friday

The Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) is set to review changes to the structure of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on friday. The request from the Prosecutor General for this modification has been added to the agenda of the SCP meeting scheduled for friday, November 15, IPN reports.

Following the monday meeting of the Supreme Security Council, President Maia Sandu stated that the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has shown a complete failure in combating high-level corruption, especially in addressing political corruption. Consequently, the Council, led by the head of state, recommended reforms within the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

In response, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office cited a severe shortage of staff, including prosecutors and officers, as well as the lack of a functional headquarters and specialized equipment for investigations.
