Valery Pavlov is the new leader of the faction of the Communists Party in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). He replaced Svetlana Popa, who entered the Parliament on the Communist ticket after the July 29 elections and chose the seat of MP instead of the post of councilor. A new municipal councilor was presented at Thursday's meeting. Businessman Eugen Roscovan joined the faction of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), Info-Prim Neo reports. “We will continue to promote the position of the PCRM in the CMC and will help solve the problems faced by the Chisinau residents so that they enjoy better living conditions,” Valery Pavlov said. Eugen Roscovan was a substitute candidate on the lists of the Social-Democratic Party. A year ago, the businessman, who is the president of the Small Business Association, joined the AMN. Now the faction of the AMN in the CMC has 8 members. “As a councilor, I will promote the development of the small businesses and will actively contribute to decision making,” said Eugen Roscovan. The municipal councilors introduced the abrogation of the decision to allocate an office to the faction of the Humanist Party into Thursday's agenda as the given faction disbanded after councilor Oazu Nantoi, who is a member of the Democratic Party, withdrew from it. A faction must have at least three members. The Humanist Party is now represented in the CMC only by Sergiu Cires. Oleg Onishchenko, who entered the Council as a member of the Humanist Party, repeatedly said that he does not represent this party anymore. In December 2008, the Humanist Party decided to join the Centrist Union of Moldova.
