“Change here and now” – is the campaign slogan of journalist Natalia Morari, who announced her intention to run independently for the position of President of the country. In a news briefing staged by IPN, Natalia Morari said that Moldova needs real, radical changes that would improve the lives of citizens here and now.
“We are not a cursed people. The Moldovans are not a wicked people. We can escape the poverty trap. We can become a country that everyone will talk about with admiration. The main thing is to want, to clench our desire in our fists and take a decisive step forward, towards a new life,” stated the journalist.
Natalia Morari noted that she did not intend to pursue a career in politics, but the politicians’ inaction made her decide to run for President.
“I have dedicated my active years to serving you – honestly, devotedly, sincerely. We made mistakes together with you and brought to power those who today destroy our country. I want to correct this mistake. I live here and I don’t have 10 more years to wait, just like all of you,” she added.
The decision to run for head of state is also dictated by the deep pain and disappointment that the years go by and the changes are not visible. “I’m ready to act to give (the citizens) hope for a dignified future in Moldova,” said Natalia Morari, convinced that “Moldova needs real, radical changes that will improve our lives here and now.”
“I represent a new force that will take our country out of this vicious circle of political games and will bring real changes and will reform our country from its foundations. We can no longer wait. We don’t have time for another lost decade. I’m here to fight for our Moldova. I’m here to fight for our future and present. The time for empty words has passed. Changes are necessary here and now,” said added Natalia Morari.
