CES institutes state of early alert in natural gas sector

The Commission for Emergency Situations (CES) declared a state of early alert in the natural gas sector. The decision was adopted after the Ministry of Energy presented information about the potential risk of interruption of natural gas supplies as a result of military actions close to the cross-border interconnection point between the Russian Federation and Ukraine (Sudja), IPN reports.

“The members of the Commission found that, at present, there are no interruptions or risks for immediate interruptions. The institution of the alert will provide the responsible institutions with the necessary instruments for careful monitoring and rapid intervention, in case of need,” noted the Government.

According to operators’ data, natural gas is delivered through Ukraine to the Transnistrian region as usual. Also, there are sufficient gas volumes for the needs of the right bank of the Nistru, including security supplies and volumes purchased by market operators.

Russian Telegram channels recently announced that Ukrainian troops entered Russia’s Kursk region and occupied a number of localities. The Sudja gas metering station, through which Russian gas is delivered to Europe, is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
