The joint stock company Enegocom is to conclude electricity procurement contracts for 2024 by December 29. By the same date, Moldovagaz and Energocom will sign a contract for the delivery of natural gas for January-April 2024. A decision to this effect was approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CES) on Wednesday, IPN reports.
“According to these provisions, the purchased natural gas will be delivered to licensed system operators at an estimated price of €550 per cubic meter. Also, in order to provide the entire territory of the country with energy resources and natural gas, in January-April 2024 Moldovagaz JSC will deliver the entire volume of natural gas intended for consumers from the left bank of the Nistru, as earlier, by supplying this to MGRES (e. n. Kuchurgan Power Plant), which generates electricity,” the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă, stated in a press conference.
He noted that the last scheduled meeting of the CES during the state of emergency was held on Wednesday. The state of emergency expires at the end of this month and will no longer be extended. The CES will be convened to solve current problems, such as tempests.
