The ceremony to invest President-elect Igor Dodon will be held at the Palace of the Republic on December 23. Such a decision was taken by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau on December 14, IPN reports.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on the public TV channels, radio stations and other media outlets. Under the law, the investor consists of a joint solemn meeting of the Parliament and the Constitutional Court that is opened by the Speaker of Parliament. The President-elect will swear a constitutional oath and will give a speech.

The procedure will continue with laying of flowers at the Monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy. At the final stage of the investing, the power is transmitted by the incumbent President to the President-elect at the official residence.

The Standing Bureau also decided that the autumn session of Parliament will end on December 23, after the investiture, and agreed the agendas of the legislature’s sittings for December 15-23. The MPs are to discuss 49 bills, including the public budget laws in the final reading.
