The Centru District Court has penalised Valeriu Macarevici, head of the liquidation Commission of the State Company “Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM), which is undergoing liquidation, and has been fined 400 lei for not presenting the average salaries of the former employees of the Company. At the previous court sitting, petitioned by the former employees of the Company, the court obliged its leadership to present the average salaries of the former employees. No TRM representative was attending the Friday’s sitting to present the papers required by the court. The judge, who is examining the case, recessed the hearings until February 12. The plaintiffs qualify the attitude of the Company’s leadership as an attempt to set the course of the case back. Over 60 employees of Teleradio-Moldova sued the results of the employment contest at the new Public Company “Teleradio-Moldova” in November 2004. The plaintiffs request to restore them to their positions, to pay the equivalent of the monthly average salary for the respective period and non-pecuniary remedies ranging between 50,000 and 100,000 lei.
