Centre for protection of personal data to be opened in Moldova
The control over the adequacy of personal data analysis will be performed by the National Centre for Personal Data Protection. This plan is part of the law regarding personal data, published in the recent issue of the Official Gazette of Moldova.
The Centre will ensure the lawfulness of all procedures regarding data protection; will offer instructions needed for the analysis of personal data; will examine the requests of all subjects regarding personal data and will ensure that the information corresponds to the content of the personal data already available, etc.
The centre will initiate and manage a register with the names of all those holding personal data, such agents being obliged to register with the Centre. According to the law, all those holding personal data are natural and juridical persons; organise and process data with personal character, and determine the purpose, essence and methods of processing this information.
The law also envisages processing all personal data, only with the consent of subjected people. The data referring to racial and ethnic origins, political beliefs, religious views, data regarding the health, personal life and criminal record are all considered special categories, of a personal data nature.
