Warning sirens were turned on in Chisinau as part of a complex exercise to test the automated centralized warning system in the Republic of Moldova, IPN has learned from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, IPN reports.
The sirens wailed for one to three minutes on June 21, starting at 10am.
The automated centralized warning system is used to inform and alert the population in a centralized way in case of exceptional situations. The exercise was held in accordance with the civil protection preparedness plan. The system is checked with the aim of determining its functionality.
