Central Chisinau closed for traffic
The center of Chisinau will be inaccessible to traffic between 11.30 and 13.00 on Thursday, April 28. The movement will be suspended for the period of the festivity that will be held to present the first 20 new trolleybuses brought from Belarus. The trolleybuses will run on rote No. 22, which goes through the center of Chisinau.
The Chisinau administration bought 102 trolleybuses from the Belarusian plant Belkommunmash within a project to modernize the public transport in the municipality of Chisinau. The cost of the project is €13 million. €5 million represents a loan from the EBRD, another €5 million – a loan from the EIB, while €3million was provided by the European Union as a grant. All the trolleybuses will be delivered to Chisinau by June 1.
