Central bank will issue two commemorative silver coins
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) on November 12 will unveil two new commemorative silver coins, both for circulation and numismatic purposes. The decision was published in the Official Gazette of Moldova.
The coins are made of sterling silver (95 percent silver) and will be available at NBM and certified commercial banks, which will sell them for a price that shall not exceed its imprinted value by more than 3 percent.
A coin with a face value of 100 lei continues the series themed “Remarkable Personalities” and is dedicated to the 480th anniversary of Petru Rares’s induction into kingship. The coin weighs 31.1 grams and has a diameter of 37 mm.
The second coin with a face value of 50 lei launches the series themed “Holidays, Culture, Craftsmanship” and is dedicated to pottery. The coin weighs 16.5 grams and has a diameter of 30 mm.
