Central bank hosts OECD mission in financial education

A mission of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be in Chisinau during October 24-26 to assess the financial education situation in the Republic of Moldova. The mission will have meetings with representatives of the public authorities, the public sector and nongovernmental organizations, IPN reports.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, the interlocutors will discuss the priorities of financial education in Moldova in connection with the implementation of a new technical assistance project financed by the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands under the aegis of the OECD and the International Network on Financial Education.

The project will be implemented during five years (2018-2022) and is intended for the Republic of Moldova and other countries of the region, such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Romania. Its goal is to put into practice and consolidate financial education initiatives in the participating states.

Founded in 1961, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. Its mission is to promote politics that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
