Center for Training Technicians for Biogas Stations to be set up in Chisinau

A Center for Training Technicians for Biogas Stations, where qualified specialists will be trained for developing and operating biogas stations, will be opened at the Ecology College of Chisinau by this yearend, within a pilot-project of partnership with a German company. A preliminary agreement to this effect was discussed by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ecology College and the German company Kuntschar&Schluter, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry of Education says that there are four biogas making stations in Moldova. The biogas is used to obtain electric power and heat. The company Kuntschar&Schluter set the goal of extending the network of biogas stations on Moldova’s territory. The project of partnerships with the Ecology College is designed to prepare skilled workers in the field, with employment prospects.

Kuntschar&Schluter, which represents a consortium of German companies specialized in this field, will finance the outfitting of the Center with modern equipment and will ensure the exchange of experience and good practices between Moldovan and German specialists. About 60 students will be trained within the project that will last for a year and a half.

The project of partnership with Kuntschar&Schluter will enable the Ecology College to diversify the educational offer in the field of renewable energy and biogas.
