A day center for children in situations of risk and for children with disabilities called “Speranța” will be opened in Soroca. The investment will be made with the financial support of the European partners. The center will provide counseling and psychological, logopedic and occupational therapy services and will stage different activities for parents, IPN reports.
A sensorial hall with different types of stimulatory elements will be created at the center. The institution’s specialists will organize recovery activities for children and lesions for parents and child caregivers.
“We will stage activities intended fort parents and child caregivers who will come to the center to maximize the children’s development potential, to engage parents in providing appropriate care for maximum recovery from disability and for empowering women to maximally become involved in the development of the child. Furthermore, we will conduct campaigns to inform the community about the equal rights of all the children and about the social services for them available in Soroca district,” Valentina Onică, president of the Association “House of Hope”, stated in the launch of the service.
The project “Speranța”, Day Center with High-Quality Services for Children”, will be implemented during January 2022 – August 2023. According to the deputy head of Soroca district Svetlana Păunescu, the District Council, by this project, comes to improve the children’s access to high-quality services that would favor their inclusion and proper development.
Project manager at the EU Delegation to Moldova Victoria Neaga said the European Union attaches great importance to the civil society’s role in the implementation of reforms at the local level. “The civil society organizations are reliable partners that considerably improve the quality of life of people from vulnerable groups, developing essential social services in communities,” said the project manager.
The Association “House of Hope” forms part of the 40 organizations that received or will receive financing for developing social services for persons from vulnerable groups in the framework of the project “Civil Society Organizations Act for Better Social Services” that is financed by the EU.
