The processing of the data collected within the 2014 population and dwelling census is to be completed by this yearend. The issue was discussed in a meeting of the National Population and Dwelling Census Commission that was chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press office, Pavel Filip expressed his confidence that the census data processing will be finished on time. “I hope things returned to normality and we will move on faster. In the previous meeting, we approved the calendar plan, which provides that the data will be introduced and validated by December 31, 2016 and will be published in the first quarter of 2017,” stated the Premier.
It was noted that more than 50% of all questionnaires were introduced and coded. The budget of 8.2 million lei planned for 2016 was 30% used. The Commission members were familiarized with the procedures that are designed to enhance the efficiency of processing of statistical data, which will increase their credibility and utilization level.
In the next census, the data will be collected electronically, which is much faster and more efficient.
