Cement plant of Rezina registered a turnover of 355 million lei in 2005
Chişinău 13.04.06 Info-Prim Neo /oxa/ Cement plant of Rezina – „Ciment” SA Rezina registered in 2005 a turnover over 355 million lei, or with 53% more than in 2004. Hubert Pillet, activity manager of Company Lafarge in Moldova, company having over 70% of shares of the cement plant, announced about this on Thursday, 13 April.
According to Pillet, the cement plant of Rezina had last year a positive dynamic of activities, getting over the planned production and sales volumes, in spite of price increase to energy resources. Within this period, the plant produced and sold about 628,000 tones of cement, record for the plant, produced 565,000 tones of clinker, with 67% more than in 2004. The plant got profit in 2005 of about 51 million lei, Pillet mentioned.
In 2006-2009, Lafarge Group will continue the integration process of cement factory in the group. Industrial and managerial integration has as main directions in 2006 strengthening the position in competition environment and improving enterprise’s standards, he highlighted.
Leonid Nicorici, corporative business manager of the factory, mentioned that the management draws a special attention to human factor of the enterprise, its modernization and protection of the environment. Last years there were made many investments this way, he underscored. Only within the modernization and re-equipment program in 2005 there were invested about 1,4 million euros, and in order to protect the environment there were invested over 3 million lei, Nicorici underlined.
Company Lafarge concluded the privatization agreement of 52% of enterprise’s shares on18 May 1999. Now it has 71,4% of shares. Lafarge works in 80 states of all continents, having about 80,000 employees. In 2005, Lafarge registered sales of 16 billion euros.
