The Central Election Commission (CEC) warns that November 13 is the last day on which the candidates for office of President of the Republic of Moldova can campaign. Campaigning on the election day and one day earlier is strictly banned, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the CEC.
On these days, the candidates cannot appear in TV or radio programs. The given ban does not refer to information posted earlier on the Internet or on billboards. The electoral contenders also can no longer make transfers to/from the “Electoral Fund” account
Campaigning on these days by the media outlets, electoral competitors and citizens is punished with a fine of 750 to 1,500 lei in the case of private individuals and of 1,750 to 2,500 lei in the case of persons with responsible posts or electoral contenders.
