CEC warns referendum campaign participants
None of the political parties registered as participants in the campaign for the September 5 constitutional referendum have presented financial reports so far. On July 27, the Central Election Commission (CEC) warned the parties that under Article 38 of the Electoral Code, they are obliged to weekly submit financial reports after registration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The report must show how much money the electoral participant earned and spent during a week. Even if no money is spent, such a report must be presented, said CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan.
“We today issued a warning. If the situation repeats next week, we will demand imposing the harshest punishment provided in the Electoral Code for not observing the financial procedures – exclusion from the electoral race,” Iurie Ciocan said.
Fifteen political organizations have been registered as participants in the campaign until present.
