CEC to challenge Appeals Court’s decision on polling stations in Transnistrian region

The Central Election Commission will appeal the Chisinau City Appeals Court’s decision, by which it obliges the Commission to establish at most 12 polling stations in the Transnistrian region, in the Supreme Court of Justice, IPN reports.

“The CEC received only the resolutive part of the Chisinau City Appeals Court’s decision. It is being analyzed and I think it will be challenged so as to also see the argued part as regards the court’s reasons for partly annulling the CEC’s decision concerning the establishment of polling stations on the left side of the Nistru and ordering to set up at most 12 polling stations there. When we receive the argued part, we will understand the Appeals Court’s reasons for partly annulling the CEC’s decision,” CEC president Dorin Cimil told a news conference.

The Chisinau City Appeals Court fully accepted the challenge submitted by the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and decided that the number of polling stations for the voters from the left side of the Nistru should be reduced from 41 to 12.
