CEC to announce final election results soon
The Central Election Commission may come together for a meeting on December 4 or 5 to make public the results of the November 28 early legislative elections, CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan stated for Info-Prim Neo.
The Commission was to convene on Thursday, but the meeting was postponed as not all the voting reports on paper got to Chisinau. Four reports are to come from the U.S. and one report from Canada.
The Munich-Chisinau flight by which the reports were to be taken to Chisinau was canceled because of bad weather.
After the official results of the early parliamentary elections are made known, the CEC will submit the final report to the Constitutional Court, which is to validate the election outcome. After counting 100% of the votes sent to the CEC in electronic format, the results are as follows: PCRM – 39.29% of the ballot (42 seats); PLDM – 29.38% (32), PDM – 12.72% (15), and PL – 9.96% (12).
These results are considered preliminary. The final results are announced after the CEC analyzes the voting reports on paper.
