The Central Election Commission registered the Electoral Bloc of the Socialists and Communists that was formed by the Party of Socialists and the Party of Communists for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, IPN reports.
The decision’s rapporteur Andrei Volentir, CEC member, said the application to register the bloc was received on May 12 and this meets the requirements stipulated by the Electoral Code.
The Political Committee of the electoral bloc will approve the list of candidates for member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, will name representatives and observers to the electoral bodies and the aides and will decide the method of managing the bloc’s bank account “Electoral Fund”. If need be, it will modify the bloc’s electoral strategy and will fulfill other duties applying to an election contender.
The bloc’s symbol that will be printed on the ballot is a five-pointed star with the hammer and sickle in its middle.
The candidates for MP can file applications to the CEC to be registered as election contenders starting with May 14.
