CEC sets expenditure cap for election contenders
The Central Election Commission (CEC) set a cap of 21 664 445 lei on electoral spending for parties and of 2 166 444 lei for independent candidates, Info-Prim Neo reports.
CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan said the central election authority used the norm of 0.5 euro cents for a voter in the case of parties and of 0.05 euro cents in the case of independents.
In the previous legislative elections, the political parties were allowed to spend at most 7.5 million lei, while the independents – 500,000 lei.
