The political parties and electoral blocs will be able to accumulate up to 58.4 million lei in their electoral fund, which could be spent in the election campaign prior to the June 14 local elections. The cap was set by the Central Election Commission (CEC) in a meeting on April 24, IPN reports.
The cap was set taking into account the average salary for 2014. The coefficient of 0.5% of the average salary (20.86 lei) was multiplied by the number of 2.8 million of voters and the cap resulted from here.
The sum for independent candidates will be different. The coefficient of 0.5% of the average salary (20.86 lei) will be multiplied by the number of voters in the constituency where these are running.
