CEC returns voter rolls to mayors' offices six months after elections
Six months after the validation of elections, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is to return the voter rolls to the mayors' offices across the country, instead of liquidating them, under a modification to the regulation on the CEC archives, Info-Prim Neo reports.
CEC decided that the lists used in elections should be utilized by the mayors' offices for improvement, so that they reflect the up-to-date situation on election day.
Local authorities have repeatedly asked for a regulation allowing the return of voter rolls to the mayors' offices.
