The Central Election Commission (CEC) will request the State Tax Service to determine the origin of donations larger than 75,000 lei made to the Liberal Party, the Democratic Party, Our Party, Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova. The decision was made following the examination of reports on the financial management of political parties for 2016, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Commission.
The CEC will also ask the Ministry of the Interior, in particular the General Police Inspectorate, to establish if the activity of the Shor Party is or is not financed indirectly or supported financially in a direct and/or indirect way by noncommercial or charity organizations, anonymous persons or in the name of third persons, or if it uses undeclared funds.
The CEC also initiated a contravention procedure over the non-presentation of financial reports by the following parties: Agrarian Party, Party of Socialists, Law and Justice Party, Party for Moldova’s Union, New Historical Option Party, Republican Party of Moldova, European Party, “United Moldova” Party, Party “For Nation and Country, Sociopolitical Movement of the Roma, “Moldova’s Patriots” Party, Party “Moldova’s Salvation Front”, Party “Renaissance” and Sociopolitical Movement “New Force”.
The CEC will submit the decision to the Ministry of Justice and the Court of Auditors for information and to political parties for information and implementation.
In the same connection, a number of parties were warned about the necessity of respecting the legal financial reporting terms. Among these are the People’s Movement “Antimafie”, Party “Our Home Moldova”, Party “Democratic Action”, Centrist Union and Democratic People’s Party of Moldova.
