Eleven candidates will compete in the presidential election of October 20. On Tuesday, the Central Election Commission registered the last three aspirants for the office of President. These are former prosecutor Victoria Furtună, journalist Natalia Morari and former foreign minister Tudor Ulianovschi, IPN reports.

Victoria Furtună, nominated by a group of citizens, submitted to the CEC over 22,000 signatures, of which almost 16,400 were declared valid. Thus, she satisfied the condition of providing a minimum of 15,000 signatures.

In the case of Natalia Morari, nominated by a group of citizens, 732 subscription lists with almost 21,400 signatures were presented. Following the verification of the authenticity of data from 657 lists with 18,954 signatures, 3,744 were declared invalid.

From Tudor Ulianovschi, fielded by a group of citizens, the CEC received 905 subscription lists with 25,761 signatures. After processing over 18,000 signatures, 15,106 were declared valid.

Today, the Commission refused to register Igor Munteanu, nominated by the Coalition for Unity and Welfare, on the grounds that he presented an insufficient number of valid signatures.

Earlier, the CEC registered the following candidates: Alexandr Stoianoglo, nominated by the Party of Socialists; Maia Sandu, proposed by the Party of Acton and Solidarity; Renato Usatyi, fielded by Our Party; Vasile Tarlev, nominated by the Party for the Future of Moldova; Ion Chicu, proposed by the Party of Consolidation and Development of Moldova; Irina Vlah, nominated by a group of citizens; Andrei Năstase, proposed by a group of citizens; and Octavian Țîcu, nominated by the Electoral Bloc “Together”.
