The Central Election Commission (CEC) Friday registered another five participants in the campaign for the September 5 constitutional referendum. These are: the Humanist Party, the National Romanian Party, the Labor Party, the Sociopolitical Movement of the Roma of Moldova, and the New Force, Info-Prim Neo reports. The first four parties announced they will campaign in favor of the referendum and urge the people to vote for amending Article 78 of the Constitution so that it allows for direct election of the head of state. In its application to the CEC, the New Force said it will make public its position on the referendum during electoral debates. Twenty political organizations have been registered as participants in the campaign for the referendum so far. The deadline for applications is August 4.
