The Central Election Commission (CEC) has pronounced on the bill to amend the Election Code submitted by the Parliament’s commission for appointments and immunities. The bill regulates the organization of parliamentary elections in single-member constituencies in two round and enables the citizens to run as independents for MP in the national constituency. When examining the bill, the CEC noted that the proposals specified in the bill are political importunity matters and only the legislative body can agree them, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the CEC.
In the same meeting, the CEC requested the State Tax Service to determine the origin of the financial contributions transferred to the election runners: Political Party “”Shor Party”, National Unity Party and Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”. These exceed 75,000 lei.
The Russian-Slavic Party of Moldova and the Party “Democracy at Home” were warned for not presenting the financial report for the election campaign, according to the situation on May 18. In the case of the Party “Democracy at Home”, which committed the second violation of the kind, the CEC ordered to strip this of state budget allocations for a period of six months.
