CEC member threatens authors of telecast with trash bin
Igor Burciu, Sergiu Praporscic and Vasile Nastase – the authors of a program called Media Express broadcast by Eu Tv – “will be thrown as trash unless they publicly apologize for having harmed the honor and dignity of the members of Central Electoral Commission (CEC),” Nicolae Garbu, a CEC member, stated at a news conference on Wednesday, January 28, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Nicolae Garbu, during the broadcast of January 24, those three dared to use a bawdy language full of hostility, harming the honor of the CEC members and of the Nistru war combatants.
“I don’t believe we deserved such an attitude, after we sacrificed ourselves in defending life, health and guarantee of the Moldovan citizens in the armed conflict on the Nistru,” Nicolae Garbu, an officer in the armed conflict of 1992, stated.
Nicolae Garbu asks chairman of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) Gheorghe Gorincioi to examine the contents of the broadcast mentioned above, together with the request of January 22 to monitor the contents of the program services of Eu TV in terms of observing the political balance and pluralism. “I don’t think that the complaint addressed to the BCC encroaches on the editorial policy,” Garbu has argued his intention of notifying BCC.
Previously, on January 22, Nicolae Garbu, Mihai Busuleac and Vasile Gafton asked the BCC to monitor the contents of the program services of Eu TV in terms of observing the political balance and pluralism. Asked by Info-Prim Neo, general director of Eu TV Viorel Buzdugan rejected the charges of political partisanship brought to the broadcaster.
