CEC invites electoral actors to sign code of conduct

The Central Election Commission (CEC) is inviting political parties, media outlets, and other electoral stakeholders to join talks on a code of conduct that will set out the rules for holding the parliamentary election campaign and covering it in media, and then sign it at a meeting on June 18, Info-Prim Neo reports. Attending the event will be delegates from the EU Special Representative's Office for Moldova and from the Council of Europe, who will monitor the observance of the code. The code of conduct is a convention agreed between the electoral competitors and media representatives on the way of conducting and covering the election campaign, excluding any activities that may harm the image of the electoral competitors. The code takes effect with its signing and is valid until the final results of the vote are published and confirmed.
