The Central Electoral Commission has initiated the procedure of validating the term of a substitute MP. Valentina Ghețu, an alternate candidate on the Action and Solidarity Party’s ticket, is replacing MP Ana Calinici.

The substitution comes after Calinici gave up her MP seat to become secretary general of the State Chancellery instead.

The procedure involves a formal confirmation from the Constitutional Court.

An agronomist from Edineț, 70-year-old Valentina Ghețu occupied the 78th slot on the PAS ticket in the July 2021 legislative election.
