CEC initiates procedure for validating two seats of MP

The Central Election Commission took note of the vacancy of two seats of Member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and will request the Constitutional Court to validate the seats of the substitute candidates Adrian Albu and Gaik Vartanean who both represent the Elector Bloc of the Communists and Socialists, IPN reports.

The two seats fell vacant following the death of Elena Bodnarenco and the renouncing of the seat by Alla Dolință, who withdrew from the Party of Socialists. According to her letter of resignation, she withdrew because she does not agree with the methods, concept and rhetoric of the party’s administration and the party in general concerning the war in Ukraine.
