The Central Election Commission (CEC) took note of the vacancy of a seat of MP that was assigned to the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). Dorel Iurcu tendered his resignation on June 28 after his term in office as mayor of Horodiște village of Rezina district was validated, IPN reports.
In accordance with the law on the status of Member of Parliament, the vacated seat is filled by the next substitute candidate on the list of the electoral contender.
The CEC will request the Constitutional Court to validate the seat of MP for the substitute candidate of PAS Roman Roșca.
Two more seats of MP fell vacant after the death of Elena Bodnarenco, of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, after PAS MP Vladimir Bolea was named minister of agriculture and food industry.
