CEC braces for snap election
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has started to draft a plan to unfold the early parliamentary elections.
CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan has told Info-Prim Neo the plan is drafted according to the Election Code. “The Commission will start to implement the actions from the plan as soon as the president announces the election day,” Ciocan said.
He does not rule out the CEC may touch on the new election issues at its sitting on 9 June. “We know we'll have early elections. We're preparing the staff and establish organizational measures.”
The snap parliamentary elections were triggered by the failure of the newly-elected parliament to elect a head of the state on June 3.
