CEC approves monthly size of subsidies intended for parties

The Central Election Commission (CEC) agreed the monthly size of subsidies that will be allocated to political prates from the state budget for 2020. The decision was taken following the amendment of the 2020 state budget law that includes over 31 million lei in party funding, IPN reports.

In a press release, the CEC says the sum that remained for the purpose for April 25 – December 31 is of over 19 million lei and this will be distributed for the whole year.

Under the CEC decision, the monthly subsidy for each vote cast in the April 24, 2019 parliamentary elections is 0.25 lei. For each vote cast in the local general elections of October 20, 2019, the parties will get by 0.24 lei, while for each vote cast in the presidential elections of October 30, 2016 by 0.25 lei.

Four each woman elected effectively in the April 24, 2019 parliamentary elections, the sum is of 6,724 lei. For each woman elected in the local general elections of October 20, 2019, this is 42.44 lei. For each young man elected effectively in the parliamentary elections, the parties will get by 8,966 lei, while for each young man elected effectively in the local general elections of October 20, 2019 by 69 lei.

The subsidies allocated from the state budget will be transferred monthly, for April 25 – December 31, 2020, to the bank accounts opened for the purpose by parties, except for the Shor Party that was deprived of this right by a CEC decision.
