CEC announces start of electoral debates

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announces that broadcasters can already hold electoral debates for the parliamentary elections of April 5, 2009. According to the Commission, 23 television stations and 7 radio stations committed to hold debates, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova 1, Eu TV, Pro TV Chisinau, TV 7, Albasat (Nisporeni), Teleradio Balti, TV – 6 Balti, CTV Nis (Nisporeni/cable), STV – 41 (Taraclia), Impuls TV (Soldanesti), Flor TV (Floresti), TV Prim (Glodeni), TV Drochia, Sor TV (Soroca), Eni Ai (Comrat), Bas TV (Basarabeasca), AVM (Edinet), Studio – L (Causeni), Canal X (Briceni), Elita TV (Rezina), Teleradio Gagauzia, Media TV (Cimislia) and Art TV (Straseni) have stated their official involvement in organizing debates. The electoral debates will also be aired on Radio Moldova, Radio Media (Cimislia), Bas FM (Basarabeasca), Vocea Basarabiei, Star FM (Balti), City FM and Radio Prim (Glodeni). 66 broadcasters in all, of which 31 TV wave stations, 3 cable televisions, 31 radio stations and a cable radio station got involved in mirroring the 2009 electoral campaign. 3 tv stations and 4 radio stations have officially declared their non-involvement. The public broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” started the electoral debates on Monday, at 8.00 o’clock.
