The Central Election Commission (CEC) decided the size of monthly subsidies that will be allocated this year from the state budget to political parties depending on the results achieved in the last elections. The size remained at the same level as last year, IPN reports.

The monthly subsidy for each valid vote cast in the parliamentary elections of November 30, 2014 is of 1.11 lei. The monthly subsidy for each valid vote cast in the local general elections of June 14, 2015 is of 0.47 lei.

The subsidies allocated from the state budget will be transferred to special bank accounts opened by the political parties, while the relevant information will be presented to the CEC. These will be transferred to parties each month. According to CEC president Alina Russu, about 1 million lei remained unused last year because the parties didn’t open accounts for the purpose.

The state subsidies that will be provided to parties in 2018 following the two elections total 40 million lei.
